In the fourth quarter of 2020, Europe's carpooling and ridesharing app market showed varying user engagement and download figures across several key players. Sensor Tower data reveals how these apps have performed during this period.

Uber - Request a ride saw its downloads increase from 300K in late October to over 500K by the end of December. Weekly active users (WAUs) followed a similar upward trend, starting at 9.9M in late September and reaching a peak of 9.6M in the last week of December.

Yandex Go — taxi and delivery also experienced growth in downloads, starting at 241K in late October and rising to 349K by year's end. The app's WAUs saw an increase from 4.7M to almost 6M in the same timeframe.

Bolt: Request a Ride had a steady climb in downloads from 153K in late October to 186K at the end of December. The platform's WAUs showed resilience, with a slight dip in November followed by a recovery to 1.3M by the close of the quarter.

DiDi Rider: Affordable rides showed a dramatic spike in downloads from 24K in early November to 178K in the third week of the month, stabilizing around 166K by year's end. The WAUs for DiDi reflected steady growth, moving from 95K in late September to around 126K by the close of December.
